Privacy Statement

We only store data that is needed to provide you with a functioning Jabber/XMPP service.
User passwords are stored in hashed with BCrypt.
We do not collect or store logs of ANY kind

Data Retention

This is completely anonymous service by design.

OG.im is hosted in Austria, which has no data retention laws.
It would be illegal for us to retain data longer then necessary for running this service.

IMPORTANT: It is possible that a court may require us to cooperate with law enforcement
ONLY if thecrime is punishable IN AUSTRIA for a period of longer than 1 year.
Cooperation means that we will have to "hand over" any stored data,
including conversation and sessions logs pertaining to the users in question.

In these cases, it will not matter because we do not store any of this information!

Security

Enable Off-The-Record in your chat client to have fully encrypted chats.
We HIGHLY recommend that you use a strong password. Store it somewhere safe.
If your password is not strong,it is possible that someone could guess it.
For added security/privacy we recommend use OTR and/or OMEMO.
We reserve the right to delete your account if you are being an asshole.
